Error firefox

Tras actualizar Firefox (3.0.19) en mi Linux se presento el error.
$ firefox Could not find compatible GRE between version 1.9.0.1 and 1.9.0.*.
Buscando en la red -para ello empleo w3m, navegador en consola- el error se resuelve con
$ sudo xulrunner-1.9 --register-global
